Development of play equipment at the Recreation Ground.
The normal monthly meeting was preceded by a presentation by Mr. Paul Yorke who has offered to project manage an up-grade of the play equipment on behalf of the Parish Council. Chair expressed her thanks to Paul for his generous offer.
He explained his personal reasons for wishing to see the facilities improved. He felt that the development should include facilities for teenagers and seats for parents/carers in addition to keep fit equipment.
He has already held two meetings with interested parents and has met representatives of two play equipment manufacturing companies.
An estimate of £40-50,000 to create a good play area on the current footprint was suggested as a guideline figure.
Paul has already investigated sources of funding and will continue to pursue this aspect of the project (these include National Lottery Awards for All, Section 106 and the Groundwork Trust). Cllr. Thorpe offered to help from AVBC with finding grants, drawing up a constitution and setting up a bank account. Cllr.
