Crich Volunteers

Crich volunteers marching up Cromford RoadThe photograph alongside was sent by Barbara Singleton.

It shows Crich volunteer soldiers marching up Cromford Road, Crich just beyond the Cross.

They are holding what is believed to be the banner for Derbyshire Royal Infirmary (DRI). At this time there were many parades in support of the DRI. The soldiers are probably Sherwood Forester volunteers pre-WW1.

The date will be about the early 1900s.
