Crich Neighbourhood Plan

The Crich Parish Neighbourhood Plan (CPNP) has reached an important stage. A draft Plan has been prepared based on responses to the household questionnaire and other community input. The draft CPNP has been submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) to check it against Environmental Regulations. Once this is completed we hope to start the public consultation on the draft Plan around April/May 2017, but this is dependent on AVBC not requiring major changes or modifications to our draft Plan. This public consultation is an important step and is your opportunity to comment on and influence the final shape of the CPNP.

In order to start the consultation process, we plan to deliver a leaflet to all the households within the Parish in Spring 2017. This will set out the main points and aims of the CPNP, and will give you detailed information of the public consultation programme.
The consultation programme will include:

Opportunities for you to view and comment on the CPNP at various locations throughout the Parish.

Copies of the CPNP on the website with the option to make direct comments.

“One to one” drop-in sessions and exhibitions at various locations where you will be able to discuss the CPNP with a member of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.

The CPNP will influence the way in which the Parish develops over the next fifteen years and will include policies on commercial development and housing, including proposals to limit development and deter large housing schemes, together with environmental policies designed to protect green spaces, footpaths, bridleways and the rural nature and character of the Parish.

Your views and comments are very important, so please take the opportunity during the Public Consultation period to make them known.

The CNP Team are a small group of local community members who simply share a passion for where they live. We will shortly be setting up topic groups to further explore local issues raised by the community during our consultation to date. Separate topic groups will look at housing, traffic and transport, business, and the environment, with a view to developing policies that will help guide future development in the parish. If you have an interest in any of these topics and could attend a discussion or two, or if you could help in any other way, we would love to hear from you. You can contact us via email at or call 01773 856084.

In the meantime, you can visit our website to track the progress of the Plan.
