Crich Parish Neighbourhood Plan

The Crich Parish Neighbourhood Plan (CPNP) was submitted by the Parish Council for independent examination in December 2017. The Parish Council received the examiner’s report in March 2018 and apart from a few minor amendments and corrections, the report was largely complimentary and recommended that the plan should go forward to a referendum of all the residents of the parish.

Before this can happen, the amended plan had to be submitted to Amber Valley Borough Council’s (AVBC) Cabinet for formal approval. This has been done, and a response has been promised on, or before, 29 April 2018.

Provided AVBC’s response is positive, the plan will go to the referendum stage. The referendum will be organised by AVBC and will be similar to a local election. AVBC will send out the ballot papers, organise the polling stations and make the arrangements for anyone who needs a postal vote.

At the time of writing this article, we have no date for the referendum, but it is hoped that it will be in early summer. Further publicity about the referendum and how to vote will be provided when the date is known.

It is very important that we have a good turnout at the referendum, and the Parish Council, together with the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group urge you to use your vote and vote “yes” to adopt the plan.

Copies of the CPNP are available on the Neighbourhood Plan website – and on the Parish Council website
