Crich village cross

The summer has been a comparatively quiet time for the Crich Area Dementia Friends’ group. I am delighted that the monthly music therapy sessions at the Crich Wesleyan Chapel, organised by Heather Johnson and others, have continued to run; they go from strength to strength. If there is anyone else who might be interested in attending, they are held every month, at 2.00 pm on the second Friday of every month. Following the music, tea and cakes are served and there is a chance to socialise. They are very enjoyable afternoons.

We were thrilled and very touched by a most generous donation from Esme Woolley and her family in her memory of their mother, Mavis, who was for many years landlady of the King’s Arms in Crich. It will of course be used to maximum effect and we are most grateful that they thought of supporting the work of the Crich Dementia Friends’ Group.

The Autumn newsletter is in production and should be delivered to homes throughout the community in late November and early December.

The date of the sponsored walk has changed yet again but this time it is definite! It will be on Sunday 6th May 2018. We are sorry that it has kept changing but we wanted to ensure that all aspects of the organisation of the event ran smoothly, and also to hold it when there were chances of better weather. We also hope that a range of activity and sporting sessions will begin in the new year.

If you have any comments about or suggestions for our work, please get in touch.
