70th birthday celebration

The children enjoyed celebrating the 70th birthday of Mrs Wetton,” Our lollipop lady”.

It was Mrs Wetton's 70th birthday and the whole school celebrated with her

The children sang Happy birthday to Mrs Wetton and the Derby Evening Telegraph was invited to our school to take a special photograph of our children with Mrs Wetton and to write an article about her long service to the children of Crich. Mrs Wetton has been helping the children of Crich cross the roads safely in Crich for thirty-eight years.

A monster of a tale

All the children in school enjoyed taking part in the village well dressing event again this year. Our third well dressing.

the infants chose the Loch Ness Monster as the theme for their well dressingThe children chose to design a picture around the theme of the Loch Ness monster. This idea from work undertaken by the children earlier in the year focussing on four countries that make up the United Kingdom. The children became interested in Scotland especially the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, hence our choice for our well dressing. The interest soon spread through the school debating the existence of “Nessie”, we have come to the conclusion she does!

All our children have contributed to the well dressing either puddling the clay or adding to the design.

Year two - Sleepover at Lea Green
