The summer term is flying by and it seems only five minutes since the start of the summer term, back in April!

Easter

Alana, year 5, showing off her Easter bonnetA big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Easter worship at St Mary’s church in March. We were very proud of our children who acted out the Easter story, retelling it magnificently. Thanks also to Di Fretwell for leading the worship. We had a busy Easter week in school and it was lovely to see some of the Fritchley pensioners when they joined us for an Easter lunch. The week ended with our ever-popular Easter bonnet competition.

Inspiring Entrepreneurs

The school children have been learning about perserverence and the importance of never giving up.

Dean Jackson inspired the year 5 and 6 pupils in Chatsworth classLocal entrepreneur, Dean Jackson, Director and founder of Huub, visited school to inspire our Year 5 and 6 pupils
in Chatsworth class. Huub designs and manufacturers wetsuits and accessories for triathletes, most famously worn by
the British Gold and Silver Olympians, Alistair and Johnny Brownlee and, more recently, Georgia Taylor-Brown, a young
triathlete and member of the Word-Class Performance Squad.

The class really enjoyed asking Dean lots of questions about his business, learning how he continured to believe in his idea and how his perseverence enabled him to set up and make a success of his own company, from its humble beginnings on his kitchen table to now being worth millions. What an inspiration for our budding Fritchley entrepreneurs.

Fun in the Nursery

Rain doesn’t stop play at Fritchley Nursery! At the time of going to press, we were having quite a soggy April, but this didn’t stop the nursery children from venturing outside. The children donned their wellies and waterproofs to have fun in their very own outside nature space. They played with the hosepipe and had great fun getting creative, digging, making mud pies, painting patterns with water, hunting for insects and filling the bird feeders

the nursery children enjoyed their outdoor activities despite the weather or perhaps because of the weather

Our ‘outstanding’ nursery goes from strength to strength and it is great to welcome so many new families to the school. Interested in visiting us? Caring for children from ages 2 to 11, with before and after school clubs on site, we welcome visitors at any time. Just ring the school office to make an appointment and we’ll be happy to show you around.
